The biggest movers right now, premarket through after hours, with the news catalyst attached when one exists. If a stock is running and there is no news, that tells you something too.
A gapper is a stock that opens (or trades premarket) significantly above or below its previous close. Up gappers usually run on a catalyst: earnings beats, FDA approvals, contract wins, short squeezes. Down gappers drop on misses, offerings, downgrades, or bad trial data.
The news column shows the freshest headline for each ticker from the last 3 days. A big gap with no news often means a technical move, a low float squeeze, or news that has not hit the wires yet. Always confirm the catalyst before trading a gap.
Float is the number of shares actually available to trade. A low float (under 10 million shares, shown in lime) means far fewer shares change hands, so buying pressure can spike the price violently. Compare today's Volume against the Avg Vol column: when a stock trades many times its average on a small float, that is the classic setup behind explosive small cap runs. Float and average volume update every 5 minutes alongside the movers.
